Every screening protocol is tailored to the individual: their risk profile, family history, and biochemical markers. Our multidisciplinary team of 30+ subspecialist radiologists — part of a practice with over 75 years of experience across the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal — brings world-class expertise to every referral.
Screening takes place at our purpose-built Riverlands Outpatient Facility in Observatory, Cape Town, where patients can complete a full battery of scans in one visit, with reports accessible via our digital portal

OUR PACKAGES
Find the Right Screening Package
We offer three suggested screening packages, each built around a specific area of health risk. These are starting-point groupings — our team is happy to tailor a bespoke protocol combining any modalities to suit a patient’s individual needs.
Cardiometabolic Screening
Stratifies 10-year cardiovascular disease risk using objective imaging biomarkers, with a comprehensive view of cardiac, vascular, hepatic, and metabolic health.
Best for: CVD risk, metabolic syndrome, dyslipidaemia, hypertension, insulin resistance, and related cardiovascular risk factors. Ideal for executive health checks and high-risk primary prevention.
Includes:
- Coronary Calcium Score (CAC) — coronary artery calcification assessment
- Hepatic Shear Wave Elastography — liver fibrosis and steatosis assessment
- Carotid Doppler — carotid stenosis and plaque burden
- DEXA Body Composition — visceral fat, lean mass, bone density
- Coronary CT Angiogram (optional add-on)
Neurometabolic Screening
A comprehensive assessment of brain health, metabolic neurological burden, and systemic vascular risk — detecting early neurodegeneration and vascular change before symptoms emerge.
Best for: Patients interested in cognitive longevity and metabolic brain health, those with a family history of neurodegeneration, or high-risk bio-metabolic markers.
Includes:
- MRI Brain + Volumetrics — structural brain imaging with volumetric analysis
- Hepatic Shear Wave Elastography — liver stiffness assessment
- Carotid Doppler — extracranial vascular health
- DEXA Body Composition — visceral fat, lean mass, bone density
Cancer Screening
A low-to-no radiation oncological surveillance package using predominantly MRI-based modalities, designed for patients at elevated cancer risk.
Best for: High-risk oncology screening needs — including family history of cancer, BRCA, or other genetic predisposition
Includes:
- Whole Body DWI MRI — whole-body diffusion-weighted imaging for cancer surveillance
- Mammogram / Breast MRI (female) — in line with RSSA and BISSA guidelines
- Prostate MRI (male) — based on PSA levels, family history, or clinical concern
- Low Dose Chest CT (optional add-on) — for patients aged 50–80 with significant smoking history
- CT Colonography (optional add-on) — non-invasive colorectal cancer and polyp detection
