After completing her Medical degree at the University of Pretoria, Dr. Omar’s journey in medicine began with an internship at Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria, followed by community service at Witbank Hospital in Mpumalanga. Her early medical career included roles in general surgery and the emergency unit at Netcare Unitas Hospital.
Dr. Omar completed her 5 year registrar training in Diagnostic Radiology at Dr. George Mukhari Academic Hospital. After completing her registrar training, Dr. Omar took the helm at New Era Radiology Inc. in Cape Town, where she served as owner and director for over two years showcasing her leadership and expertise in the field. Her experience was further enriched by part-time consultant work at Groote Schuur Hospital.
Dr. Omar's commitment to radiology is highlighted by her published MMED research article in the South African Journal of Radiology (2020), Level 2 Certification in Cardiac CT (UK, 2022), and completion of an advanced MSK ultrasound course (2023).
Outside the clinic, Dr. Omar enjoys running, exercising, yoga, reading, and creative writing, pursuits that reflect her holistic approach to life and health.
