Ultrasound Imaging

The use of ultrasound in the assessment of musculoskeletal conditions has increased considerably in recent years. It is used in imaging ligaments, tendons and muscles of large and small joints, assessing soft tissue masses/fluid collections and to guide injections.

You may be asked to undress to expose the area that needs to be examined. You will be given a gown to wear, if necessary. No special preparation is needed.

Booking an appointment is required as some of the ultrasound examinations require specialised radiological skills.
