Ultrasound Imaging
Pelvic Ultrasound*
A pelvic ultrasound is a noninvasive diagnostic exam that produces images that are used to assess organs and structures within the pelvis. A pelvic ultrasound allows quick visualization of the pelvic organs and structures for both male and female patients when moving the ultrasound transducer over the lower abdominal/pelvic wall.
You will be asked to attend the examination with a full bladder to ensure optimal visualisation.
If your bladder is not sufficiently filled, you may be asked to drink water and wait until the bladder is full before rescanning.
