Ultrasound Imaging
Doppler Ultrasound
Doppler is a specialized type of ultrasound which allows assessment of blood flow, both arterial and venous. It is used most frequently in the detection of blood clots in the deep veins of the upper and lower limbs, assessment of peripheral arterial disease in the lower limbs as well as blood flow in abdominal organs.
No special preparation is necessary. The arterial Doppler examination is a longer procedure and, if not an emergency, booking an appointment is required.
