About:
Dr Wessels obtained her undergraduate medical degree from Stellenbosch University in 2010. She completed her foundational clinical training in the Eastern Cape, followed by three years of clinical service as a medical officer within a specialized Cardiology department.
She subsequently entered specialist registrar training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of the Witwatersrand, earning her Fellowship of the College of Radiologists of South Africa (FC Rad) and a Master of Medicine (MMed) degree in 2021. This combined background in cardiology and radiology provides her with advanced expertise in complex cardiovascular imaging systems. Upon relocating to Cape Town, Dr Wessels practiced as a consultant at Groote Schuur Hospital before entering private practice, joining Morton & Partners as an associate in 2023. To further advance her clinical specialization, she completed a prestigious Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship at the University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, Canada, where she mastered advanced cardiac MRI and cardiothoracic CT modalities. Following her fellowship abroad, Dr Wessels returned to South Africa and was welcomed back as a Partner at Morton & Partners in 2026. Outside of her professional practice, she enjoys travelling, exploring the city, and spending time with her family and friends.
